This site is a non profit based organisation which is open to the entertainment industry including Directors, Producers, Writers, Actors, Bands and grips (this list is not inclusive). The vision of The Dan Unger Foundation is to provide support, advice and financial assistance and offer a secure network to further career prospects. All members will be treated equally with respect and receive the same benefits.
Dan Unger, after facing a life threatening illness, and receiving very little support from the Screen Actors Fund, despite being a long term patron, envisioned a foundation which would provide the assistance and solidarity lacking within the entertainment industry.
“So when I was close to death in the hospital, I prayed to God and asked for help to get well so I could start up a foundation to help and treat all my colleagues in the entertainment industry equally. This is how the Dan Unger Foundation originated. All actors etc can get the help they need when they need it without all the red tape.”
How Dan Unger wishes his foundation to provide financial assistance: “My foundation will send you a cheque for up to $5000 in your name. Not made out to your land lord, your electric bill or your phone company, but to you. The money will go to you so you can take care of your own bills and your family. So I have been working hard to get this foundation up and running, it is now time for CHANGE. I am here for you; it’s about the entertainment industry taking care of each other, taking care of your families in your time of need. It’s about equality and equal access for everyone”
The Dan Unger Foundation also gratefully accepts donations from both members and non members.Also we are offering to 10 Sponsors a permanent link to our Website that goes to your Website for a monthly fee of $100.00 per month, every little bit helps to help someone else in need. |
